Television commercials always fascinate and inspire me. Roughly a month ago I watched this amazing TV add called JOY OF GIVING week where in a School Kid can’t resist giving his lollypop to a hungry kid on foot path. When I googled out for the same ,I found out that oct2-oct8 (i.e Week including Gandhi Jayanthi) is celebrated as JOY OF GIVING week. Next Came the obvious Question as to Have I ever experienced JOY OF GIVING. And then when I started Giving a thought about doing my part by keeping aside part of my time to experience JOY OF GIVING,this is what happened.
I got to know about this fantastic NGO called “NAMMINDA” which I thought could be like a catalyst to fullfill my secret desire of doing my bit to the society.
“Namminda” makes a humble effort towards encouraging and guiding children from less fortunate backgrounds. Main principle of “NAMMINDA” is to make the less fortunate children feel a sense of belonging and support them towards becoming self-reliant individuals. “NAMMINDA” strives to meet its objective through initiatives which would provide children the exposure to happenings and demands of competitive world and encourage them to plan their careers. NAMMINDA’s work extends right from Distribution of books and stationeries,Conducting Counselling sessions for career guidance, Organising motivational talks by accomplished individuals from different spheres of society,Providing a platform for interaction with best minds from public and private domains.
NAMMINDA has organized a free medical camp at Mugadh, As a respect and tribute to old people they made it a point to celebrate mother’s day at an old age home in Dharwad.Further more as a salutation to all those Patient teachers who have been tolerant to guide the mentally challenged, Hand mades from mentally challenged kids are also purchased. The story goes on, this being just a glimpse of NAMMINDA’s dedication.
